| Understanding
and Managing Personality Differences |
| Using
cross-functional teams seems at the core of how effective
‘learning organizations’ conduct business, develop
products, and solve problems in today’s ever intensifying
competitive environment. Having high technical skills is,
however not sufficient to solve problems and improve processes.
More and more organizations are learning that emotional intelligence
(the ability to understand and control your own emotional
states, along with the ability to sense and adapt to the emotional
states of others) is perhaps the major determinant of success
in human interactions.
This workshop will introduce participants to emotional intelligence
(EQi) concepts and they will be given an EQi assessment to
measure their own skill in this area. The session then examines
the basic differences in personality styles and groups will
explore the nature of things that invigorate, stress, frustrate
and produce joy for each personality group. Learning to tap
into these insights altering your own communications styles
and approaches can dramatically improve interpersonal interactions
and group / team performance.
We will see some examples of CEO’s who have adapted
their leadership styles (and even built their company cultures)
around their own personality styles. |
