|
| Presented
by Maia Sponseller
If
you have completed some accent and pronunciation training,
you may be asking yourself, ”What’s the next step”?
This course may be the answer. Join us for an advanced course
in pronunciation and accent for Spanish speakers. We’ll
review some accent fundamentals and quickly move on to more
advanced material, including the difference between (US American)
English intonation and sentence rhythm, and the same elements
of speech in Spanish.
|
| Who
Should Attend:
Individuals
who are interested in continuing to improve the clarity of
their spoken English; those who have completed a previous
accent and pronunciation course at Xavier and want to continue
“perfecting” their accent, intonation, and overall
speech.
|
You
Will Learn:
- To
correctly pronounce sounds and blends not covered in the
previous course
-
The importance of syllable stress
-
How to organize your sentences in “thought groups”
for maximum clarity
-
The surprising differences between stress-timed rhythm (for
English) and syllable-timed rhythm (for Spanish)
